1. Surface Decontamination & Substrate Preparation

Every respray begins with aggressive surface decontamination. Existing finish is chemically stripped to reveal the bare substrate, which is then sanded to precise roughness specifications per manufacturer guidelines. We repair minor surface imperfections with high-build polyester filler and apply an epoxy acid-etch sealer to prevent moisture ingress. This foundation layer ensures basecoat adhesion and long-term corrosion resistance.

2. Spectrophotometric Color Matching & Mixing

Your vehicles paint is scanned with a digital spectrophotometer to read molecular variance, metallic flake orientation, and pearl particle density. The basecoat formula is then mixed against factory paint codes and verified with a spray-out card under tri-source color-correct lighting. This eliminates metamerism and ensures the mixed pigment will match the existing finish under sunlight, fluorescent, and incandescent conditions.

3. Multi-Stage Basecoat Application

The booth environment is stabilized at 22 degrees Celsius with 65% relative humidity. Basecoat is applied in uniform passes with controlled flash times between coats to allow solvent evaporation without trapping moisture. For metallic finishes, we apply a drop-coat to orient flake uniformly and prevent blotching. For color blends, a wet bed is sprayed at the panel edge to create an invisible transition between old and new paint.

4. Clearcoat Application & Controlled Bake Curing

A high-solids, UV-resistant clearcoat is applied in two full passes to build depth and scratch protection. The panel then enters a controlled bake cycle where infrared lamps raise the surface temperature to manufacturer-cure specifications without overheating adjacent plastics. This molecular cross-linking process guarantees hardness and chemical resistance, preventing premature clearcoat failure and ensuring the finish withstands automated car washes and chemical exposure.

5. Machine Polishing & Gloss Verification

After cooling, the finish is machine-polished with progressive foam pads to remove any microscopic orange peel or dust inclusions. A gloss meter measures surface reflectivity in gloss units, confirming the finish matches factory delivery data. For color blend repairs, we perform a final visual inspection under natural daylight and tri-source artificial light to guarantee the transition is invisible from every viewing angle.
